Aptech Systems GAUSS is a commercial software environment and programming language for numerical computing, statistics, econometrics, and data analysis, developed by Aptech Systems Inc. and used to solve complex mathematical and analytical problems. GAUSS was originally created for econometric problems (time series, forecasting, GARCH models, panel data, etc.) Although similar features are available in R/Python, in GAUSS they are built into the core and optimized for data analysis tasks. Compared to interpreted languages (e.g., R or Python without optimized libraries), GAUSS can be significantly faster for purely numerical calculations.
