Autodesk has released Autodesk Moldflow Simulation Software 2027.0. This release introduces new features and enhancements that expand the capabilities, enhance solution accuracy, and reduce time to solution.The Moldflow Material Database (MDB) version 2027.2 was released with Moldflow 2027.1.0 and will be available for all installed versions of Moldflow 2027. The update includes newly tested materials from both testing laboratories and material suppliers. It also incorporates updates to existing materials from suppliers and removes materials that are no longer available.

Note: If Moldflow Adviser 2027.0.1 is installed, the Moldflow Adviser 2027.1.0 update may not appear in Autodesk Access. You can still download and install the update from Autodesk Account Portal.

Transparent Background option in Save Image dialog
The Save Image dialog now supports saving PNG images with a transparent background.
Clip legend for contour plots
Clip legend is now enabled for contour result plots. On the Scaling tab of the plot properties dialog, select Clip legend to limit the displayed color range to a specified minimum and maximum.
Split view and Lock All improvements
Locking behavior in split-window layouts has been improved for multi-view result review:
- Lock All Views, Lock All Plots, and Lock All Animations on the Locking panel now appear selected when all corresponding items in the layout are locked.
- Overlay plot selections stay synchronized when Lock All Plots is used with synchronized views in split layouts.
- Unlocking an individual view keeps split-view lock states consistent across panes.
Solver Enhancements for 2027.1.0
The following enhancements to the analysis solvers provide you with better solutions and improved accuracy.
Metal flake reflection indicator result
When the polymer contains metal flake fillers and the fiber orientation analysis is enabled, 3D Flow analysis produces the Metal flake reflection indicator result. The result plot indicates how predicted light-and-dark contrast will be visible across the part from metal-flake orientation.
Simulation Compute Manager updates for 2027.1.0
The Moldflow job management system is known as the Simulation Compute Manager (SCM). The SCM has only one instance per system regardless of how many separate users are on that system. SCM 2.9 is installed by Moldflow Adviser 2027.

Enhanced Autodesk Assistant
Autodesk Assistant capabilities have been enhanced. The range of simple commands recognized by Autodesk Assistant has increased significantly. Autodesk Assistant can now understand multiple requests in a prompt and break them down into a series of actionable steps.
[/]Note: Actions that require complex data types like Entity Lists and Property ID may not be recognized by Autodesk Assistant.

Flow length overlay on pathline plots
Flow length can now be selected as plot data along pathline plots. On the Pathlines Tools tab, choose Flow length from the Data list to color pathlines by flow path distance. Combined with Terminating in selected area, this helps you inspect the path and flow length of material reaching a chosen region of the part.

Command Line Interface (CLI) to Synergy
A new command line interface allows API calls to be executed from either the Synergy Command Line or from an external Shell. To install the moldflow command interface use Powershell (as an Administrator).

After installation the moldflow command will be added to your PATH.
Basic moldflow command options:Moldflow Adviser provides manufacturability guidance and directional feedback for thermoplastic part and mold designs through high-level material flow, mold cooling, and part warpage results.
Moldflow Insight provides detailed material flow, cooling, and warpage results for both injection molding and compression molding processes. Additional control on materials, machines, molds, and processes is possible with Moldflow Insight. Automation with scripts/API accelerate setup and post-processing capabilities. Thermoplastic and thermoset materials are supported, along with customization of materials for part inserts and mold inserts. Advanced molding methods, such as gas-assisted injection molding, injection compression molding, co-injection molding, microcellular injection molding, and many more, are available to discover the best option for your part.
