Descartes CONNECT Edition Update 4 | 3.7 GbThe Bentley development team is pleased to announce the availability of Descartes CONNECT Edition Update 16 (10.16.00.15). Based on MicroStation, itprovides a uniquely powerful toolset for processing and integrating point clouds and scalable terrain models, as fundamental data types, persistently throughout architectural, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) workflows. What's new in Descartes CONNECT Edition Update 16 - Date: July 30, 2021 - Performance improvements in Scalable Mesh: Clipping, texturing, management of concave areas, volume calculation- Load and export compressed Cesium 3DTiles- New key-ins to "Select", "Delete" and get "Details" with undo/redo on 3SM- Reprojection of 3SM when attached as reference - Better display of 3D reality meshes with the new “forward” and “backward” Clip Volume settings in the Section tools- Ability to display point clouds in cross-section views using only a Cut Plane with new Tolerance setting- Instantly drape design elements on Scalable Meshes when draping in the “Z” direction- Automatically attach the Web-ready Scalable Mesh after it has been uploaded to ProjectWise ContextShare- With the improved usability of the conversion tools, you can automatically attach a Scalable Meshes once it’s been converted from a 3MX format- Access your reality meshes from anywhere using ProjectWise ContextShare to perform volume calculations, ground and quick ground extractions, snap and drape elements, and tile terrains Bentley Descartes has become a member of the Bentley's product family when Bentley acquired HMR back in 2000. Before being acquired by Bentley, HMR was the research development group of Groupe Haut-Monts, a large aerial photography acquisition and post processing company from Quebec city. HMR has distinguished itself during the 90 for, amongst other things, being able to display very large images while using very little RAM memory. At the core of Bentley Descartes is the Imagepp library, also developed by HMR. Take advantage of all project data by integrating point clouds, scalable digital terrain models, raster files, and legacy documentation into your infrastructure workflows. You have access to a wide variety of reality modeling tools to help increase productivity for a better ROI. Bentley Descartes integrates your imagery into engineering workflows to increase your project quality. The application streamlines point cloud to geometry conversion to boost project production times and ensure engineer quality. You can also produce animation and rendering for project presentations. Bentley Systems, Incorporated. is the global leader dedicated to providing architects, engineers, constructors, and owner-operators with comprehensive architecture and engineering software solutions for sustaining infrastructure. Founded in 1984, Bentley has nearly 3,000 colleagues in more than 45 countries, $500 million in annual revenues, and, since 2001, has invested more than $1 billion in research, development, and acquisitions. Product: Descartes Version: CONNECT Edition 16 (version 10.16.00.15)Supported Architectures: x64Website Home Page : www.bentley.comLanguage: englishSystem Requirements: PC *Supported Operating Systems: *Size: 3.7 Gb * System Requirements:
- Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Windows 8 and 8.1 (64-bit)
- Windows 7 (64-bit)
Note: Windows 7 operating system is supported only if you have its service pack (SPI) installed.
Processor Intel or AMD processor 1.0 GHz or greater. OpenRoads Designer is not supported on a CPU that does not support SSE2.
Memory 8 GB minimum 16 GB recommended. More memory almost always improves performance, particularly when working with larger models.
Hard Disk 9 GB free disk space (which includes the 5.6 GB install footprint for a complete installation)
Video See the graphics card manufacturer for latest information on DirectX drivers. 1024 MB of video RAM or higher is recommended. If insufficient video RAM or no graphics card supported by DirectX can be found, OpenRoads Designer attempts to use software emulation. For optimal performance, graphics display color depth should be set to 24-bit or higher. When using a color depth setting of 16-bit, some inconsistencies will be noted.
Screen Resolution 1600 x 1200 or higher
MSAccess 64-bit engine To connect to an Access database, you must download and install the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable. Use the following link to download and install the MS Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable. This is required for access to gINT projects and for the ability to Import InRoads drainage files
Here is the procedure for Descartes :
1. Install Bentley Descartes CONNECT Edition Update 4
2. "Add or remove programs" and remove the Bentley connection client (whatever version you have installed, even if it's the same version number).
3. Install the Setup_CONNECTIONClientx64_10.00.13.017 included in archive
4. Run the included patch as administrator
If you're using ContextCapture as well, I imagine you're using 3MX or 3SM format... Well note that when using the merge function with Descartes on a high res model, some parts are missing when rendering (appearing as white squares all over the model)... It is a long time issue, which has never been solved... Like all Bentley products, it is crippled with bugs, copy pasted pieces of code from one software to another, no logic in tool development whatsoever... Best example is Pointools, buy a very promising software and turn in into crap...
